It reminds me of the time Abbie Hoffman filled a tour bus with hippies and drove through suburban neighborhoods pointing out such bizarre cultural practices as picket fences, riding lawn mowers, and three car garages.

I think we can get carried away by trying to be overly respectful and sensitive to other cultures. I think common sense and basic human decency can easily distinguish the difference between honest curiosity or ignorance...and downright malicious bigotry.

I say go for the Maasai. If they're not offended, I'm cool with it. Mr Hamisi's comments are right on. After all, it's no different than a guy in a bush jacket pretending he's a great white hunter.
