The attempt to impose Western cultural values upon people who have adapted to the geographical, economic, religious and tribal conditions over thousands of years is folly.

It's ignorant arrogance at best to assume they have an interest in Western culture, let alone kill others out of pure envy. It is truly scary to see the POTUS say that the motivation for suicide bombers is jealousy over our way of life. A MacDonald's is not the epitome of anything desireable, does represent a disintegration in families, minimum wages, child labor, etc.

Not going to war was an option for most of the world. Can anyone believe that somehow the US took the moral high ground in declaring two optional, unnecessary, costly both in the short- and long-terms?

And the rest of the world abdicated it's moral responsibilities in not declaring optional aggression, killing, maiming?

It takes a Conservative to twist their minds like that.
