Here are some online examples of these terraces due wave action:

Ancient shorelines of Great Lake Missoula.

Shoreline Butte.

Former shorelines of ancient Lake Bonneville.

Terraces of ancient Lake Bonneville.

Another name for them are strandlines. They are due to former lake, river or sea levels.
