In a world where folks are trying to undercut your access to natural resources with mercenaries of their own, a large mercenarial force overseas is needed. And the more they are called upon to do - means they need to eventually supply warehouses, vehicles and planes of its own.
They don't do it out of the goodness of their hearts - it's for money - that's why they are called mercenaries. Nothing chilling about it.
In Iraq, the "insurgents" for the most part, are simply regional mercenaries paid and supplied to disrupt and destroy the democratically elected government in Iraq - which is vehemently anti-Euro & anti-Russo, since these folks were the best buds of their tormenter-in-chief.
The left cries about US casualties in Iraq and loves to promote the notion that all soldiers were conned into serving. Then when the US facilitates the shift to mercenarial forces, whom no leftist gives a rat's behind about - the left is complaining about that too.
Scholars and Rogues is just another nutball site; what happens when Rense.com meets Daily KOS. The name sounds a bit more literate, but the content is much the same.
If the US forces were all called home and US paid mercenaries were aiding the Iraqis, the left would still complain, still believe it's part of a grand pooh-bah conspiracy and still rant mindlessly about why we are there.
If Eric & Lindy are humming your theme song, you can bet you've plopped right into a bad episode of Mork & Mindy.
