I don't agree with them having any during 'quarantine', but if they did before, well before, well, they're adults and so be it and as you said the darn thing wears off. Darn only in terms that it can hinder their thinking when operating a vehicle.
Just because they had 'some' before flight, well before flight, doesn't mean that NASA hid the affair.
Ever watch Space Cowboys? Whatever. Besides their traditional breakfast, coffee(gads caffeine) and cake I don't think they had anything else.
