Like I said, Tom's cynicism is Sherriff Taylor stuff next to mine.
There's a reason this stuff came out now, and it's not because people want Gore to get credit for his humanitarian efforts. As soon as one realizes one's emotions are being played like a Stradivarius for someone else's agenda, it's exploitation for gain - it's not about human compassion.
When a film uses a musical score to manipulate the audience like so many Pavlov dogs, to produce the desired feelings of sadness, fear, patriotism, revenge or love - I don't find that entertaining either.
My compassion is developed enough that it needs no contrived triggers to activate it - and is immune from being exploited to serve someone else.
