Actually, that fits in pretty well with my analysis.

That is, the middle class was made possible by industrialization, although it didn't start out that way. There were little things like the Union movement, Pinkerton goons and lots of strikes and lockouts before things finally stabilized.

Of course, to be fair, my grandparents would probably never have moved to the United States if the Spanish cigar factory owners hadn't moved to the USA in search of a Union-free environment for their businesses.

And the role of the New Deal and post-war policies is also vital.
Until I was 6 we lived exclusively in Federal Housing Projects.

My mother bought her first house with a VA loan due to my deceased father. I did my first two years of college on his unused GI Bill and finished up with my own GI Bill. I bought my own house with a VA loan.

That's why I am a New Deal Democrat. If it hadn't of been for that, I'd probably still be living at the Ponce de Leon Projects in Ybor City.
