I've often brought up my view on here that our nation, despite its rich history and successful Constitutional guarantees, could easily go down the same path as Nazi Germany with the right stimulus and manipulative leadership and this article seems to detail how that occurred.

What's chilling to me is the similarities to the political discourse we've been seeing over the past decade, this desire to label people trying to point out the possible pitfalls of our governmental actions or explore the odd happenings they see around them, as reactionary and conspiratorial. I think this article is a clear example of why the strength of our nation requires us to be ever vigilant and that the dangers of being silent are far worse than the harm caused by speaking out and creating unease.
