I only wish Syria and Iran were just dissing our grandmothers. The Euphrates pipeline into Iraq has been heavily supporting mass bombings and arming insurgents since the beginning. Iran, main supporter of anti-Israel terror groups and others, is still going ahead with its nuclear experiments.

Tyrants throughout my lifetime have made a career of using diplomacy as a weapon. It gives them legitimacy in the eyes of the world, and allows them to avoid the consequences of their actions. In difficult situations, it buys them time to do what they want while doing the dance around the negotiating tables and raising drinks with diplomats.
