They have to come into an LZ, they have to load and/or unload, and get out again. I don't think it can do that in 1/10th the time or take 10 times the hits.

I do think it's worth it as a platform, a technological demonstration, and for training. They've learned a lot from the think already. But being neither fish nor fowl it may be that as intriguing as it is as a hybrid, it won't be good enough at either extreme of it's mission to justify it.

I would be absolutely delighted to see it function well, and see it displace all manner of rotary-wing craft. I don't think it will if it sees combat situations. Too vulnerable to inexpensive weapons in relatively untrained hands.
