Where we completely agree is that OBL and Saddam had the winning hand going in and led the Bush ego into this trap. You are not implying, you are insisting that two lost wars at enormous cost were inevitable given Bush's arrogance and Cheney's willingness to set him up. That once those Saudi Arabians flew into WTC the US had lost not only one but two wars at the same time. Which is a first.

It seemed rather sad. An entire thread devoted to saying that the current policies of the Bush Administration are the best which could possibly been done, and that disaster was the only possible outcome to confronting OBL and Saddam, only one of whom has to be giggling from his grave.

Your response is a bit like a guy who torched a very old, very large wooden apartment building in the heat of summer because he didn't like the guy living in the penthouse. Warned beforehand that there would be a conflagration the guy said that the fire would be out real fast, the residents would thank him for starting it, and he was only trying to get the guy in the penthouse to move.

People are bailing out, dead, dying, maimed. Screams. Old people, children, men, women, everyone dying.

"Well", says the guy who started the fire, "what would you have done."

Either you believe this has been handled the best of all possible ways or you don't believe it.
