News story here.

And now for the editorial:

This is an utterly pathetic state of affairs. Thirty years lost, thirty years of burning coal and natural gas for electricity. And when electric cars hit the roads big time in the next ten years, it will be thirty more years of burning hydrocarbons to charge them.

Meanwhile countries like France...France! have had thirty years of clean, quiet power, and telling the Middle East "who cares what the hell you do?"

The laws of physics are no different in France than they are here. Nuclear power in America died from irrational fear. Thanks loads, those out there responsible for this. I just hope we have enough time left to recover, and when the environmental idiots start throwing wrenches in the gears again--and they will--may they be tied up inside the nearest coal plant smokestack.
