"Deaths among U.S. forces, Iraqi civilians drop"
"Numbers fell to lowest levels last month in more than a year, U.S., Iraq say."
"In a joint statement, U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker and U.S. Commander Gen. David Petraeus commended Iraqi’s security forces and its citizens for the decrease in violence."
My, my. I guess this is their way of saying that it's not the increased presence of American troops which is having an effect. And there are those who say Petraeus isn't simply a political general.
By the way, are the Iraqis any closer to political reconcilliation? Have they passed an equitable oil revenue-sharing law? Are the Kurds acting in concert with the rest of Iraq? Are American oil companies undercutting said political reconcilliation?
