My clock radio is set to NPR and it wakes me up every morning, I get most of my news whle I take care of the three S'es before I go to work.

A few days ago I heard on NPR that Iranian artillery had shelled Kurdish villages in northeastern Iraq. It was reported that a Kurdish rebel leader had been bragging about how he had raided Iran and killed several hundred Iranian soldiers. It was also mentioned that this particular Kurd is considered a terrorist by US authorities.

The reporter also mentioned that the Turks are also after this Kurd, and had requested permission from the Iraqi government to cross the border and capture him, but the Malaki government had denied their request. There has been absolutely no follow-up on this report, and no denial. Just absolute silence. Even if it had been in complete error, some kind of retraction would have been broadcast. Is there something going on that all the involved parties are trying to keep hushed up?
