Seems like a pretty good overview.
"The Islamic state of Iran sends its greetings," began the letter, written in a Kurdish dialect called Sorani. It accused the United States of using "hired agents and spies" in the area to "destabilize security in our country, through your borders."
"And we would like you to be aware that our land and air operations will go on through the coming days to chase away those elements," it read. "We are making you aware so that none of you get hurt."
What seems clear is that the Bushs, both Father and Son, have used and abused the Kurds beyond reason (see "See No Evil", by Robert Baer, a very conservative 25 year veteran of the CIA).
It makes sense to me that the media wouldn't have access to the mischief Bush is using the Kurds to play on Iran, and that the Kurds would like to play on Iran.
Bush has promised the Turks the Kurds would not be able to set up a separate country. We'll see - the Kurds are firmly entrenched, and Kurdistan is a de facto reality, anyway.
