Just how is this power "beamed" down to earth?
Microwaves? Would there be losses due to moisture in the atmosphere?
How efficient would the receiving mechanism (an antenna, I presume) be at reconverting this to electric current. What about heating up the atmosphere, or moisture in the atmosphere? How would the ionosphere react to this radiation, is it ionizing radiation, or gentler stuff like in our microwave ovens? How would it affect wildlife passing through the beam? How much would the beam be attenuated or dispersed, and what would be the effects? If a laser, could we point the beam accurately enough, through cloud cover?
