Don't forget Bussard's website

Energy Matter Conversion Corporation

I remember first reading about Dr. Bussard's work in the Spaceflight Handbook 10-15 years ago. Dr. Bussard had an exceptionally rare combination of formally schooled intellect and unfettered creativity. The combination of these two qualities set him apart from his peers, and unlike many creative people he was unquestionably at the top of his field. Between Dr. Bussard and Dr. Forward, the two practically cornered the market on creative ideas for space travel. Now both are gone. They inspired millions, including myself. I learned so much because of them I can't even begin to take account. I can only assume that they felt the same frustration as I that so many of their ideas were decades or centuries ahead of their time. It's that unfulfilled potential that leaves me with a sense of loss at Dr. Bussard's passing.
