While I approve of the recalls (better safe than sorry), I'm not getting information on either the levels of lead (600 ppm is the maximum legal limit) in the CPSC recall notices. I have seen numbers as high as 12000 ppm on metal buckets, but I wonder how much of that is related to the soldering process.

Again, I'm just a little suspicious that this suddenly became a glaring issue only this year. Is there some trade thing going on I should know about? I'd really like to see some tests on older toys.
