Human intelligence has obviously been subject to evolution and the physical differences between races are evidence of evolutionary pressures. We know modern human form was attained long before modern human behavior so looking modern is no gaurantee of a modern brain.

That said, I think supposed racial differences in performance in intellectual activities are primarily cultural. It just bothers me that people treat the mere idea that there might be racial differences in intelligence as inherently racist. This has a basis in previous bogus data manipulation and agenda driven science, but it is not a fundamental scientific principle and in fact denial of the possibility amounts to denial that human intelligence is subject to evolution. Even if there were a difference in average intelligence the range in intelligence amongst all groups is so vast that there should be no basis for discrimination.
