The 9/11 families were supposed to get all this money. Huge quantities were donated. I've never looked into it, but has anyone heard anything about the money actually getting to these families? A couple of million dollars is nothing to sneeze at for the average family, and while it is of course no real compensation for a lost loved one, it would make a big change in most lifestyles.

I have never seen one story, one followup, one interview with such a family showing how they're using this compensation to put a kid through college, help pay the mortgage after the loss of a breadwinner, or anything else.

My concern: Did they ever actually get the cash, or is it tied up in some legal hell of some kind?
