Good suggestion, and perhaps just coincidentally, the same thing's been occurring to me lately. However, it's in the context of doing it differently in the next design rather than fixing this one; just doesn't seem worthwhile to invest any effort in the present user interface when I'm planning to build a new one.
The new design will be based on the more modern "portal" paradigm, with "widgets" representing each board, which maximize or minimize when you click them, but never go away completely. What should be interesting is that the widgets will be available in a form that you can embed on other Web pages. If you don't like my design, you'll be able to create your own.
If you'd like to see a current example of the kind of designs I'm building today, drop me an email. I don't want the URLs to get sucked into the search engines, but OTOH, I can always use people testing the new sites and reporting any problems to me. Anyone else want to help me test the new sites, please email--it's open call for guinea pigs.
