A lot of that has been done by the press itself in recent years. For example, I'm not sure fake reporters asking real questions is any worse than the media's abuse of secret "anonymous sources."

Of course, your contention is that this quickie news conference was part of a deliberate Bush plan of some kind, as opposed to maybe the FEMA guys being a bit too busy under the circumstances to massage the press to the extent the press feels it is entitled to.

Granted, what they should have done if they were short of time is just issue a straight press release answering as many questions as possible, and not try to get "cute" with ringer reporters in a news conference.
