Quite the contrary, Tom, I think it'd be hilarious to watch Rudy transform what would otherwise have been a routine defeat in 2008 into a humiliating electoral rout. He's Dubya 2.0 all the way, from the grasping authoritarianism to the 9/11 exploitation* and fearmongering to the single-minded obsession with making war as the solution to all problems. Go Rudy!
Having watched in several debates as the Republican candidates relentlessly try to drive the GOP even further to the right, I have to question their intelligence and sanity. Do you really think that after the last seven years, the American people want to get pounded even harder by Republican extremism? Has the GOP entered into a mutual suicide pact?
