Maybe "important" isn't the right word.
How about "informed," or "intelligent," or even "remotely intellectually coherent?" The people who are the loudest with their political opinions in Hollywood are almost without exception as dumb as a barrel of set concrete.
Not only that, but most of them have the moral and emotional makeup of a spoiled ten-year-old, unable to deal with adult relationships, adult responsibilities, and the ability of an adult to restrain their lower impulses in public.
They're spoiled brats for the most part, and it shows almost every day.
