Get yourself a freeware standalone FTP handler. At home I've been using "Ace FTP 3" from Visicom for the Hiss work, and before that for Ink Pot (call it four years +/-)... and in fact have never used either FF or IE to do FTP transfers. My office uses a different standalone -- I'll follow this post up with that info when I'm at work tomorrow.
