re: Per capita?

"Same for energy consumption. Fact is, in the future China is going to be eating the most out of the carbon fuel trough, and burping the most back into the air"

It may have escaped your notice, but China is a little bit bigger than the USA. It's the highest population in the world, so it is perfectly normal that it should be producing the most carbon and using the most energy.

Energy consumption and carbon production is a global issue and a global responsibility. I was somewhat relieved to discover than the UK is much lower than the USA. But even here, we can do a lot lot better. Massive off-shore wind farms, the Severn tidal barrage, and PPP's to bring new nuclear power stations on line are all helping to increase our energy production without increasing our carbon production.

If I were American, looking at the current statistics, two things would happen. Firstly, I'd be disgusted by my own country, and secondly, I'd keep my mouth firmly shut when it comes to judging other countries.
