I haven't done much research on Reich, so I don't have an opinion on the validity of his work. I DO remember seeing some photos of his "cloudbuster" and the eyewitness accounts of what it did and found it interesting. I actually met a Russian inventor back in the 70's who demonstrated his invention in front of a group of us and was able to create kinetic energy out of the atmosphere. Quite impressive. The guy was also like a robot, and even photographs of him show energetic anomalies. We spent several days with him and he didn't appear to eat OR sleep. You can rail at me all you want, but I've met many very unusual people over the past few decades. People the ordinary public don't come across.
I understand what you mean about Collins making assumptions (but don't we all?), but his theory takes us out of the nuts and bolts of flying hardware and "aliens" and brings it back to an unknown energy/interdimensional energy we have not identified yet. (which is where I lean). Besides, really brilliant people can (and do) go off the deep end and often are committed. Psychiatric hospitals are full of them.
