I haven't heard of anyone being called a racist lunatic for proposing appropriate checks.

As ER says, Canada will approach the matter in a reasonable and humane way, and they're still planning to accept 25,000 refugees by the end of the year.

What's more, Trudeau apparently has all provincial premiers onside.
