"Before industrialization carbon dioxide made up about 0.03 per cent of the atmosphere or 280ppm (parts per million). Today, due to human influence it is about 380ppm. Even these tiny quantities have resulted in an increase in global temperatures of 0.75ºC (see misleading argument 1). "
Anyone with any sense would KNOW this is wrong.
Does anyone need this explained as to why it can not be true?
Why not look at what R.S. in next "answer" 3 says:
"And, as set out in 'misleading argument 1 ', carbon dioxide from human sources is almost certainly responsible for most of the warming over the last 50 years."
They say last 50 years because a high percentage of CO2 added by human activity is thought to be have been added in last 50 years. Koyto wants the world to return to 1970 levels of emission [37 years ago]. This also would mean that most warming would occur starting after 1960's.
Wiki:
"The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the last 100 years."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming
Notice they didn't say global temperature has risen 0.74 ± 0.18 °C in last 50 years. Hint: They didn't fail to mention this because they are more stupid than R.S.
Roughly, half warming occurred in the first 50 years of the 100 year period. Leaving .3-.4 of warming in last 50 years.
Global temperature in last 50 years has NOT risen by as much as .75 C.
Though if you were assume [for no particular reason] that without human activity adding CO2, global climate would dropped after the 1960's by an additional amount of somewhere around .5 C it could be possible. Or if CO2 added by humans has special qualities that allows it warp time-space so has affect the past.
