re: Now there's fodder for a good conspiracy theory!
The money was too good.
I have a penchant for commodities that have real value; real estate, gold, well-made vehicles, post-apocalyptic resource-filled bunkers that would make Howard Hughes envious, and tens of millions of shares in eternal corporations.
That stuff doesn't come cheap.
You'd be surprised how much money you can make when you can travel through time and reach into both the past and the future. In fact, one has to be careful not to make too much - that sort of thing makes one all sorts of enemies.
