Does anybody have any ideas on why Intel is killing AMD right now?

I've always prefered Intel chips in my PC's...But for a while it looked like AMD was catching up and might pass Intel...

Now AMD appears to be in a death spiral that might end in an investor killing supernova.

Just wondering what you fellow zoner's thoughts were.
