i think Intel has done a great job with the Intel Inside marketing campaign

AMD seemed to be overcoming that for a while but at the expense of their bottom line (they were cutting prices to compete). I think that Intel, being much bigger than AMD, was able to meet the price cuts while maintaining the "intel inside" marketing campain and at the same time continuing to outspend AMD on R&D. A 1-2-3 punch.

I'm starting to wonder if AMD has any hope of surviving. Their chips are good...As good as Intel? In some cases I'm sure they are, but market perception seems to be that they are more of a "commodity" than a "brand".

Its nice to hear other's thoughts.

TB, if you think the Chip and Auto businesses are capital intensive, take a look at an Integrated Steel Mill!
