It sounds to me like "Kidnap" is not what occured.
And the case in question really involved the laws in Canada not the USA. The word "Kidnap" is just being thrown around to inflame tensions and build on pre-existing bias.
Imagine, liberals are crying because a wealthy well-connected Capitalist, who defrauded innocent people out of their money, is being mistreated by an evil overzealous prosecutor!!!
Looks Like a case of Bush Derangement Syndrome to me.
