"Ripping"
What's happening when one is "ripping" a CD to a HD? It seems to be different than copying, as that is called "sync" for synchronize.
They seem to start out as MP3 files, and then end as MP3 files, so it's not changing format. At least I think the CD player is playing MP3s.
I've found that I can "rip" directly to an SD card through a reader, then hear the book through the cell phone. So "sync" isn't part of any process.
Anyone know what happens during a "rip"?
