Look closer.

You posted a cumulative poll chart below for Trump and Sanders.

In a Clinton/Trump chart, Clinton, the Smartest Woman in the World--shepherded and fervently protected by the media at the same time they're shitstorming Trump--is ahead of Trump the Fascist by only 4.4 points. That's in a general election poll. And I believe that's the widest spread between Clinton and any other Republican candidate in the cumulative charts. Some Republicans, including Carson, actually beat her. In the latest single poll, Clinton is beaten or tied by every Republican candidate on the list.

In a general election poll, that's not just a tiny bunch of psycho right-wing primary voters calling the shots, is it?

Your theories on the mood of the entire electorate may need some work. You can also feed in two Congressional and local elections over the past few years that handed Democrats their hats in record numbers.

Out here in the real world, strong Republican election victories (1980, 1984, 1994, 2010, 2012) were run on conservative ideas and principles, and the promise of opposition to unpopular Democratic ideas. We ran basically "moderate" or "vanilla" presidential candidates in every election since Reagan, and except for the first Bush 41 election, either got beaten or barely squeaked out a win.

I come to different conclusions than you do.
