Surely to delight some and screw up others, this potent hallucinigenic alcoholic drink that drove artists and writers mad in the 18th and 19th centuries, is now back on the American markets..........absinthe.
I have some here and I LIKE it. I ordered mine from Czechloslavakia because you couldn't get it here in the States.
Made with annise and poured over ice, it's delightfully potent and fresh flavor goes milky on you. You can't drink much of it, it's 120 proof, and I would be very concerned if anyone drank anymore than 4 oz. of it and wanted to drive. It's a warm and colorful high, full of dreams for you that night. Make sure you can sleep in. A guy named Lance Winters is distillng the stuff in an old miltary hangar in California after a 95 year ban here in the US on the potent alcohol.
BTW, this is a rare treat for me, I use it only on special occasions.
