I understand completely

the challenges of doing the things I suggest and I by no means am arguing for suddenly starting to tear open old asbestos-laden buildings to throw fiberglass into them. Any quality change happens slowly and deliberately which is why I didn't veto the idea of new nuclear power plants.

I would just like all posts on our energy solutions to include all aspects and not just concentrate on a single area. Nuclear's just one component and certainly not without it's problems. All of the methods have drawbacks but one can't just pick and choose a single way to address the solution. The final fix will involve a concerted and bi-partisan cooperative effort and must include a diminishing of our expectations that there cannot be sacrifice for the good of mankind. We're spoiled rotten in this country in terms of our waste of resources. It has turned us into an economic powerhouse unrivaled by any other nation but it is unsustainable as long as world population continues to grow unchecked.

I worry that a focus on just adding nuclear power plants with all their hidden costs or drilling new oil wells is just a way of putting off the inevitable hard choices humanity must make.

Thanks for a non-confrontational reply.
