Had to look it up: Boy's Life magazine (published by the Boy Scouts of America, of which I was one at the time). The cover story was an ACC short-short about a solar sailing regatta, called "Sunjammer". Later reprinted as "The Wind from the Sun". So, I was 12: often known as "the golden age of science fiction."
