I've been lucky
I haven't been asked to manipulate results to fit an agenda for many years. The last time was when I was at a bank that was later acquired (while on its way to failure) during the downturn.
Your point's a good one though. In pretty much every organization I've ever been part of, you couldn't swing a coffeemaker without hitting someone's agenda. The most bitterly political organization I've ever seen from the inside: a hospital.
