last I looked the American auto makers weren't losing sales because their cars were too damned efficient.
If you were so worried about them losing jobs you'd be shouting from the hilltops for single payer universal health coverage so that American industries would get out from under the burden of trying to provide it for their workers and giving them back a competitive edge against countries that provide it.
