re: Kurzweil's The Singularity is Near to become a film

"How can we, with our limited biological brains, imagine what our future civilization, with its intelligence multiplied trillions-fold, be capable of thinking and doing? Nevertheless, just as we can draw conclusions about the nature of black holes through our conceptual thinking, despite never having actually been inside one, our thinking today is powerful enough to have meaningful insights into the implications of the Singularity. That’s what I’ve tried to do in this book."

I want to see this movie- if for no other reason than it's fantasy aspect. The most important part, I believe is the morality of machines. Or what "use" does machine intelligence have for humans. E.g. humans have a "use" for other less intelligent creatures- pets or domestic animals may quickly come to mind in association to use, but the animal wild also held in great value and is "rightly" thought to be "uplifting" in a "spiritual" sense- thereby a "use". [And perhaps more importantly, as a check and way to see what is a human.]
