Global Warming Will Save America from the Right...Eventually

"The area that will by completely inundated by the rising ocean—and not in a century but in the lifetime of my two cats—are the American southeast, including the most populated area of Texas, almost all of Florida, most of Louisiana, and half of Alabama and Mississippi, as well as goodly portions of eastern Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina."

The author of above article is about as loony as you can get.
Wiki entry on Dave Lindorff:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Lindorff

You will notice that Dave Wiki bio shows no significant experience in field of science. Looks like he spent most of life as lawyer- and has done some writing that has pleased some writing critics enough to give him some award.

Considering that lifetime of a cat is at most about 20 years, Dave thinks that within twenty years, the Right will be "dealt with" because of rising sea levels. Is there any scientist which would support Dave's claim? Would any non scientist such as Al Gore, even want to even be associated with Dave's wild unsupportable claim?

On the similar line of friends don't allow friends to drink and drive, why is Dave writing such nonsense?

I would guess that one reason is Dave doesn't have any connections to people who have any scientific knowledge. Dave and his friends for instance probably wouldn't even understand why we have seasons on Earth or any other basic kind of thing regarding earth science.

But this simple large scale ignorance regarding science, does not completely explain Dave's article. Because, normally speaking, someone who was ignorance about something would try to put some effort into understanding something before writing an article that demonstrated that he was without doubt an idiot. And lawyer by training would in particular have this tendency.
So, a possible reason for such ignorance, is Dave and everyone around Dave, lacks any understanding of science, and in addition has gotten misinformation which is the basis from which he drawing his "scientific" conclusions. And would need to get this information from sources in which he regards as reliable.

But there is more to this, because Dave isn't using any source which he could consider reliable to draw his direct conclusions. In other words, he feels qualified to make scientific conclusion with more profound consequences than any other published work by scientists. Hundreds of thousands of scientist are "somehow" failing to mention that within 20 years large parts of the US will be under water.
One explanation for this is that Dave is extremely narcissist and surrounded by other extremely narcissist people which explains this shallowness and irrational thinking.

The only upside is this written and accepted by a insignificant publication:
"About Baltimore News Network, Inc.
IN 1989, Baltimore News Network, Inc. (BNN), a nonprofit corporation, was established by a group of concerned citizens who believe that the mainstream media offer a narrow perspective of the news. Too frequently these news sources ignore or trivialize progressive or alternative viewpoints."

And of course the above article is a kind of "proof" that mainstream media "ignore or trivialize progressive or alternative viewpoints" which are of the utmost in importance [a large part of US being under water in less than 20 years would be by all objective measure something which is important].
