I don't believe they will hold their value, just my opinion. Silver closed today at ~ $16.20 an ounce (a twenty year high, but still lagging behind gold's bullish climb). So you can get a silver eagle for about $18.30, which is a nice looking coin. Other countries mint silver coins, and some of these are pretty nice too. Other silver ounce coins are actually cheaper than the eagle.
So you could get almost three of these coins for the same price as one of his silver coins.
As for collectable value, I don't know. Silver's a good buy right now (IMO), but I would not buy from there as a silver investment.
