What should be the Big Goal of improving education?
Why do some think that Education is THE ANSWER that solves all problems.
I would say the ultimate goal is to have all people wise enough that less State control is *needed* [or desired].
Something along similar line, is that in order for a democracy to survive the people have to be sufficiently educated.
What is meant by the idea of a people "not ready" for democracy, but a people lacking in education [enlightenment]?
I would say a measure of the education of general public is the degree in which "wiser minds" are *needed* to be controlling the public.
I also think that more control by "wiser minds" will tend to cause a less educated public, and less control by "wiser minds" will tend to cause a more educated public.
I say that what is wanted is a society in which "wiser minds" aren't involved in controlling the public- there is no need or desire of this- and "wiser minds" can do something else- and they should be able to figure out what they could do.
