That Limbaugh and other well known right wing conservatives are in discussions with top Republican Party officials who are concerned that a McCain nomination would suppress the Conservative turn-out so much that the Republicans could lose as many as 50 congressional seats in the 2008 elections.
These Republican officials appear to be willing to sacrifice any hope of winning the Presidential election in an attempt to "turn-out" the conservative and right wing vote by any means necessarry. Even if that means undermning their own Presidential nominee.
One additional name bantered about as a potential 3rd Party candidate is J. C. Watts; However, party insiders doubt that Watts would agree to such a run. Watts also if likely to be one of McCains top choices as a running mate given that African American voters appear to be losing their willingness to support a Hillary Clinton Campain.
