Camera pictures
The ET cameras are obviously independently powered, since they work after orbiter separation. I have seen solid booster camera films that run through an entire launch, from liftoff to booster ocean splashdown.
Is there some reason they can't run the ET cameras until re-entry destroys them? This would be cool to watch.
Maybe they don't broadcast directly to Earth, but have to relay through an orbiter transmitter?
