One advantage of having Obama as a President is we will no longer have to put up with Europeans reflexively and self-righteously denouncing us as racist. It will also be humbling for political personalities and movements in this country building their careers by attacking every policy they don't like as being racist. And I'm sick and tired of the shibboleth of rich, old, white men running everything, too. Of course, we will also be in the position of having anything that goes wrong on his watch blamed on his race.

Stilll, that a black man (with Islamic connections!) is even running for President is something we can be proud of as a nation (not so much a woman, several European countries have had female leaders). I don't think that is something we're very likey to see in Europe any time soon.
