Fireworks

First of all, if you read the story, it was public displays that were threatened. Believe me, we already have rigid personal fireworks controls in places like California. Driving through the Rockies states around the 4th one year was like a breath of fresh air.

As for health care, I'm just pointing out some markers in an overall trend. You have to realize that British health care is no longer used as the shining example of how to do things by national health care advocates in the U.S. It's all about France, now. So far--France's health care system is running into problems, too.

Ironically, the example of the 16-year-old dying in the ambulance, which Nick considers unimportant, would probably have seen a lot of use as an example by national health care advocates in the U.S. had it happened here.
