Who exactly is "New" to politics that's running? Hillary and McCain have a lifetime under their belts and Obama has 3 years of being a Senator.
One simply has to look at Obama's voting record to realize he represents more of the same as well. A few paces to the left of Hillary, but all politician.
I look at that voting record and say is this guy heading in a new direction? Heck no! Look at all the NV (Not voted) bills he avoided! Any tough unpopular issue with any demographic he has simply run away from. That's not a brave man - that's just another cowardly politician. Since July of 2007 he's basically abandoned his constituents that voted him into office! They have no voice - because of his ambition.
No, the closer you look and the more informed you are, the more Obama looks just as sleazy, if not sleazier, than his fellow politicians.
The simple answer is you'll get more of the same no matter who wins. Hillary and McCain are simply already more beholden to certain interests. If by some remote coming together of demographics, Obama actually does win, he will learn fast that nobody does anything for nothing in DC and will find his "owed favors" list go from the hundreds to the thousands real quick if he tries to implement anything big or different.
The result will be something like the Clinton's first year in office from 1993-1994. When absolutely nothing was accomplished, posts were left empty, they complained a lot and the "right wing conspiracy" was to blame for it all. With Obama, to be quite honest, I would expect it to be worse - two years of nothing, even more complaining and even less cooperation.
Why? Because Obama will not just have the GOP to worry about, but will have the Hillary faction hovering over him every day. They will not want to see him succeed and she will be waiting for him to screw up royally in Iraq or with the economy so she can be seen as the rightful heir to the US throne in 2012. Just as many Democrats today still believe Al Gore was ripped off. Hillary will have an even more vocal media sector claiming she was ripped off - because she is a woman. And after a few years of an Obama presidency, when the far left folks realize Obama's voice is far deeper than his thoughts, and he hasn't delivered them from their economic woes, they will probably jump on the Hillary bandwagon.
Again, I invite all Obama fans to please look very closely at that voting record. That tells the whole story. No media, debates or further analysis is needed.
Voting records don't lie.
