Globalization v Economic patriotism

The french are masters in economic patriotism:
Consolidating merges between french companies in order to avoid being taken over by a foreign one.
But they are not afraid to take over ones in other countries.
Axa Bank is french, (it took over several belgian insurance and bank companies) but it has clients in Belgium and employees in Belgium. It does bring jobs where the customers are! Belgian jobs.

With Airbus, there's the same logic (even better): Airbus merges with Northrop in order to be able to build plants in the US (one of the reasons is that planes are sold in dollars and Airbus wants to be solidly implanted in the US so as to avoid having to depend on a too high euro currency) and thus povide jobs to americans.
If Airbus got it , it must be because jobs will be created in the US and not only in Europe.
